该剧讲述1938年至1944年期间，日本侵华、山河破碎，在中国共产党的领导和推动下，夏衍、郭沫若、田汉、巴金、柳亚子、陶行知、徐悲鸿、茅盾、欧阳予倩等一大批爱国进步文化人士云集桂林，与以李克农为代表的“桂林八办”（八路军桂林办事处）一起，在绝美的山水间，以笔为枪，以舞台做战场，通过新闻、文学、戏剧、音乐、美术等一系列文化运动，宣传抗日民族统一战线，将流亡与复兴、时艰与责任、生存与死亡、个人情感与民族情怀等都转化为抵御外来侵略的民族文化长城，进行一场没有硝烟的“文化抗战”的故事。。This popular animated television cartoon featured two Stone Age families, the Flintstones and their neighbors, the Rubbles. Much of the humor was based on its comic portrayals of modern conveniences, reinterpreted using Stone Age 'technology.' Most notably were their cars, complete with absence of floorboards to allow them to be 'foot-powered.'。
